And He Rejoiced

And He Rejoiced

Faith Family,

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them, (Acts 16:25).

What a great story in Acts 16!  Paul and Silas were thrown into prison for freeing a slave girl from demon possession.  So, they were forced into social distancing!

Now, while fastened by stocks in the inner prison, an earthquake shook the place.  Paul and Silas were set free.  Stocks came off.  Doors of the prison were opened.  They were free!  What would you do?  Run!  Of course.

Or, not.

Paul and Silas were conscious of a bigger agenda than their own, namely God’s.  So, when the jailer thought that his prisoners were gone and preemptively prepared to take his own life, Paul and Silas took advantage of their God given opportunity.

It was right there during social distancing that Paul and Silas led that jailer to Jesus.  On that day, the jailer and his family were saved!  Wow!  Are we able to see God’s bigger agenda?  Or have the corona blinders limited our view?

Stop for just a moment.  Ask God for His perspective and then ask Him: “Who needs to see Jesus in me today?”  Maybe a phone call to ask how you can pray for a neighbor?  Maybe a kind word as a neighbor walks by?  Maybe an email or a text?  Maybe running an errand for someone in need?
May God grant us His bigger perspective today.

In His love,
Pastor Karl
