Thanking God for You

thanking God for

Dear Faith Family,

For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, I do not cease to give thanks for you remembering you in my prayers,” Ephesians 1:15-16.

Our dining room table is decorated with cards of encouragement from you.  Our phone records and inboxes are full of your love and encouragement.  Even our refrigerator bears the fruit of the gospel (see what I did there?  fruit?) of God through you.  Thank you!

May I take you back?  As the morning of October 20 progressed, I declined.  The next day was spent in part at a picnic table with my doctor.  And, the next day?  Covid test.  Now that was fun!

My sweet bride was probably three or four days behind me.  We were trying to survive and care for each other at the same time.  All I can say is that God is bigger.  Thank you for prayers and your encouraging words.

After 15 days of 102+ fever, Covid met its match with a second round of antibiotics teamed up with steroids.  That’s when things began to stop declining and start progressing.  But Covid didn’t leave without a fight.  It left a memento in the form of a blood clot in my calf.  Yikes!

We are recovering slowly.  Energy levels are somewhere around half a tank full.  What that means is that we have about enough energy to make it to lunch time.  After lunch we seem to be running on fumes.  And, after supper we’re ready for bed?!  But we feel like each day brings just a little more strength and for that we are thankful.

One of the ways that we have experienced the presence of God during this time is through YOU!  Thank you.  Your love towards us continues to strengthen us.

Who are you thankful for today?

Thanking God for you,
Pastor Karl
