The Foot Book

the foot

Dear Faith Family,

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns,” (Isaiah 52:7).

“Left foot, Left foot
Right foot, Right.
Feet in the morning.
Feet at night.
Left foot, Left foot, Left foot, Right.
Wet foot, Dry foot.
High foot, Low foot.
Front feet, Back feet.
Red feet, Black feet.
Left foot, Right foot.
Feet, Feet, Feet.
How many, many
feet you meet.

Although Dr. Seuss had much to say about feet, he didn’t actually help us to decide what makes feet beautiful.  So I’ll ask you: “What makes feet beautiful?

Here we are in the midst of this crippling pandemic.  And we wait.  What are we waiting for?  Are we waiting for someone to tell us that it’s over?  Are we waiting for someone to tell us that the virus is done?  Are we waiting for someone to tell us that there’s a vaccine?  Are we longing for some good news?

Consider the longing of the people of God.  How the people in the time of Isaiah wanted to hear that captivity was done, God’s wrath was satisfied, God had conquered the enemy!

Let’s go back to your question: “What makes feet beautiful?”  Beautiful feet bring good news.  Good news that we have peace with God in Christ Jesus alone, (Romans 5:1).  We are no longer children of wrath, (Ephesians 2:3).  Instead, we’ve been given the right to become children of God, (John 1:12).
Imagine the beauty of the feet that bring news to you that you are now safe.  You cannot get the coronavirus.  Those would be beautiful feet!

How much more beautiful are the feet of those who bring the news that God’s wrath has been satisfied?  Who bring the news that you have been saved?  Who bring the good news that God defeated death itself?  That God is in charge, even of the coronavirus?

Left foot.  Right foot.
Feet.  Feet.  Feet.
Oh, how many
meet your feet!

Who will hear the beauty of your feet?

In His love,
Pastor Karl
