Covenant
We are thankful you chose to be part of our Living Oaks Ministry Hope Parents Group and are looking forward to working with you! In order to ensure a safe and confidential environment for all participants, please read and sign this group covenant agreement. Participation in the group is a privilege, bonded by confidentiality. Constructive participation must be based on mutual respect and proper etiquette. All members must agree to honor this covenant in order to participate in our parents group.
(If you are participating as a couple, both you and your spouse must sign this Group Covenant)
To that end, I will adhere to the following group covenant:
- As a member of this group, I agree to not disclose to anyone outside the group any information that may help to identify another group member. This includes, but is not limited to, names, physical descriptions, biographical information, and specifics to the content of interactions with other group members.
- I am free to speak about how I am experiencing God, personal struggles, encouragement, suffering, etc. I will support my group members in their pursuit of knowing God intimately and living in a way that pleases Him. I understand that group members come from different faith or denominational backgrounds and that we are all in different places in our own spiritual growth and understanding of the gospel. I agree to respect those at different points in their journey and I will not be divisive in areas of theological difference.
- I understand that my attendance in the group reflects a commitment to not only receive care, but to pursue growth in godliness. I understand that it is my responsibility to faithfully disclose the nature of my ongoing struggle and although I am here because of a family member’s issue, I am willing to be encouraged, built up, and challenged towards growth in my relationship with God and others.
- I understand that consistency in the group is important; therefore I will strive for consistent attendance at group meetings. If I am going to be absent, I agree to contact my small group leader.
- I will not contact another group member outside the group context without the prior approval of my small group leader. I agree to openly discuss with my small group leader the nature of my relationships with other group members.
- I will not film or record, in any manner, the live group sessions.
- Finally, I commit to strict confidentiality regarding all personal information shared within the group. However, I understand that my confidentiality may be broken in the following situations:
a. If it is evident that I am a danger to myself or someone else, or
b. If I confess sexual contact with anyone under the age of legal consent (18 years of age).
I understand that Living Oaks Ministry leadership will call family, counselor, and/or authorities to report the above behavior. In addition, I understand that staff may discuss the details of particular situations in which more than one staff member is involved or in a supervisory context.
